Visitor purchase terms

Muvo does not currently charge visitors anything: audio guides are either open or unlocked with a code the venue gives you. This page explains how those codes work.

01Muvo currently sells nothing to visitorsLink to this section: Muvo currently sells nothing to visitors

Listening to a Muvo audio guide costs you nothing as far as Muvo is concerned. Muvo does not ask you for payments, card details or billing information, and does not issue you receipts.

Audio guides can be:

  • open access: scan the QR code and listen;
  • code-protected: the venue (museum, school, monument and so on) gives you a 6-digit code, free or included in its admission ticket, and you enter it on your phone.

If you paid anything to get a code, you paid the venue, outside Muvo, and that payment is governed by the venue’s own terms.

02Who provides the serviceLink to this section: Who provides the service

The audio guide player is provided by Muvo, whose owner is identified in the legal notice. The content of each audio guide (texts, audio, images) is the responsibility of the venue that publishes it.

03How an access code worksLink to this section: How an access code works

  • Each code has 6 digits and can be typed in or entered by scanning the QR code printed next to it.
  • Redeeming it gives you a pass: access to all of that venue’s published audio guides for a limited time, 2 hours by default. The venue may tell you a different duration.
  • The clock starts when you redeem the code, not when you receive it.
  • The player shows how much time you have left and warns you 10 minutes before it runs out.
  • A code only works at the venue that gave it to you.
  • An unused code expires 12 months after the venue bought it. Pending legal review: To be confirmed: whether visitors should be told about this period or whether the date given by the venue is enough

04One code, two phones at mostLink to this section: One code, two phones at most

Your pass is stored in the browser of the phone where you redeem the code, using a technical cookie described in the cookie policy.

If you switch browsers or clear your browser data, you can enter the same code again while the pass is still running. Each code works on 2 phones at most: it will not unlock a third.

For security, if too many wrong codes are entered in a row, the player temporarily blocks further attempts from that phone.

05Refunds and complaintsLink to this section: Refunds and complaints

Since Muvo charges you nothing, it does not handle refunds. If you paid the venue for a ticket or a code and want to complain, please contact the venue directly, as it is the one that sold it to you.

If you have a technical problem with the player (for example, a valid code that does not work), tell the venue’s staff or write to us through the contact form.

06AvailabilityLink to this section: Availability

We do our best to keep audio guides available at all times, but technical interruptions can happen. A venue may also unpublish an audio guide, close its venue or reach its plan’s visitor limit; in those cases you will see a notice in the player.

You need an internet connection: the player does not work offline.

07Your privacyLink to this section: Your privacy

You do not need an account or give any personal data to listen. The player keeps your preferences and an anonymous ID in your browser, and records anonymous statistics without storing your IP address. Full details are in the privacy policy.

In future, Muvo may let some venues charge for their audio guide directly on the visitor’s phone. This is not available today. If it is launched, we will update these terms before accepting any payment, covering at least:

  • who the seller is and who issues the receipt Pending legal review: To be completed by legal counsel: whether Muvo or the venue sells, and on whose behalf;
  • the final price including taxes, the payment methods and how to recover a pass using the receipt;
  • the right of withdrawal and its exception for digital content supplied immediately with your express consent Pending legal review: To be completed by legal counsel: Article 103(m) of the Spanish consolidated consumer protection law;
  • the refund policy Pending legal review: To be completed;
  • information on consumer dispute resolution Pending legal review: To be completed.

09Governing lawLink to this section: Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law, without prejudice to any rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country of residence. Pending legal review: To be confirmed by legal counsel: jurisdiction applicable to consumer visitors
