Deleting an artwork never erases it at once. It goes to the trash, where it stays for 30 days with all its data: texts, audio, fields, extras and QR code. During that time you can recover it. After 30 days Muvo deletes it for good.
Move an artwork to the trash
Open the artwork from Artworks.
Open the More actions menu (…) next to Publish and choose Move to trash.
Confirm with Move to trash.
To delete several artworks at once, select them in the Artworks list, choose Move to trash in the bar that appears, and confirm.
The artwork stops showing in the player straight away, as well as in tours and in the Related artworks of other artworks. Its audio guide number becomes free, and artworks in the trash do not count towards your plan's artwork limit.
Want to take an artwork out of the player only for a while? You do not need the trash: choose Archive in the same menu, or unpublish it. See Publish and versions.
Recover an artwork
In Artworks, press Trash (N) next to the button for a new artwork.
Find the artwork. The Deleted in column shows how many days are left before it is deleted for good.
Press Recover on its row. To recover several, select them and press Recover in the bar that appears.
The artwork comes back with all its data, but as a Draft: publish it again when you are ready. If another artwork took its number while it was in the trash, it gets the next free number and Muvo tells you, for example «“Still life” had number 12, which was taken: it is now 31.»
If your space has reached its plan's artwork limit, recovering fails with You have reached the maximum number of artworks of your plan. Move another artwork to the trash or choose a plan with more room.
When an artwork is deleted for good
Once a day, Muvo deletes the artworks that have been in the trash for more than 30 days. There is no button to empty the trash sooner, and nothing can be recovered afterwards.
| What | In the trash | Deleted for good |
|---|---|---|
| Texts and audio | Kept, in every language | Deleted. Credits spent on them are not returned |
| Images, PDFs and recordings | Kept | Deleted |
| QR code | Opens the space's list of audio guides | Still opens the space's list; its code is never given to another artwork |
| Statistics | Kept, under the artwork's name | Past figures stay, shown as Deleted artwork |
What visitors see on its QR code
A printed QR code keeps working whatever happens to its artwork. While the artwork is in the trash, unpublished or deleted for good, scanning it opens your space's list of audio guides with the notice «That audio guide is not available right now. Here are the others.» Visitors never land on an error page.
When you recover the artwork and publish it again, the same QR code opens it again: there is nothing to reprint. If you want an old label to open a different artwork instead, see Regenerate or swap a QR code.
Before you delete an artwork whose label is on the wall, think of the visitors who will scan it. Remove the label, or swap its QR code so it opens another artwork.
