Every artwork, every tour and the space itself have a permanent QR code. It works for every language: visitors hear the audio guide in their phone's language when it is available. Its address is short and never changes when you edit the name, the text or the audio, so you only print it once.

Which QR codes you have

QR codeWhat it opensWhere to find it
ArtworkThat artwork in the playerThe QR tab of the artwork, or QR codes
TourThe first stop of the tour, with the list of stopsThe tour, or QR codes
SpaceThe list of audio guides of the space, for the entrance or the ticket deskQR codes → View the general QR

Each artwork gets its QR code the moment you create it. If the artwork is not published yet, its QR code shows a friendly page of your space instead.

Download one QR code

  1. Open the artwork and go to its QR tab, or find it in QR codes.

  2. Press Download.

  3. Choose SVG (vector, for print shops), PNG (image) or PDF (vector).

Send the SVG or the PDF to a print shop: they are vector files and stay sharp at any size.

Design your label

The label template sets how every printed label looks. Administrators change it; editors print with it.

  1. Go to QR codes and open the Label tab.

  2. Set the Orientation, the Label size (width and height in cm) and the QR code size.

  3. Under Content, choose what to show: Name of the artwork or tour, Audio guide number, Headphones icon, Logo of the space and a short Text such as «Scan and listen».

  4. Under Typeface and colours, pick the Typeface and the colours of the text, the background and the number.

  5. Check the Preview, which updates live, and press Save template.

Keep the QR code at least 2 cm wide. Below that, some phones may not read it. Leave some empty space around the code and print dark modules on a light background.

  1. Go to QR codes and select the artworks and tours you want. Use the filters to show only Artworks or Tours.

  2. Press Download and choose a format.

  3. Wait a moment: big downloads are prepared in the background and you can keep working. You get a notice when it is ready.

  4. Download the file from Prepared downloads, where it stays for 7 days.

FormatBest for
ZIP of SVG, ZIP of PNG, ZIP of PDFA print shop or a designer, one file per QR code
A4 PDF with labelsPrinting your labels yourself, in a grid with soft cut lines
A4 PDF, one per pageOne large QR per sheet, with its name, number and address

To print straight from the browser, choose Print labels. In the print dialog, choose actual size (100 %) and no browser margins so the labels measure exactly what the template says.

Before printing a whole batch, print one sheet and scan a couple of labels with an ordinary phone, in the light where they will hang.

Regenerate or swap a QR code

Only administrators can do this, and you rarely need it.

  • Regenerate creates a new address for that artwork. The QR code already printed stops working and you will have to print the new one. Use it only if the printed code must stop working, for example after it was copied somewhere you do not want.
  • Swap with another QR code exchanges what two QR codes open, for when two labels were printed swapped. Nothing needs reprinting.

Unpublishing or deleting an artwork does not break its QR code: visitors see a friendly page of your space with a link to its audio guides.
